Breckenridge

Breckenridge, a ski resort and town at the northern tip of the south central region of Colorado. The town has a population of 2,408 and is also popular during summer when it attracts outdoor enthusiasts with hiking trails, wildflowers, fly-fishing, mountain biking and boating.  

Get in: 

Coming in by plane will take you to the Denver International Airport (domestic and international flights) around 104 miles (166km) to the east of Breckenridge. Other domestic and local flights come into either the Eagle County Regional Airport or the Colorado Springs Airport.

By bus, the Colorado Mountain Express offers door-to-door shuttle services from Denver International or Eagle County Airport to Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone and other resorts in the area.

Breckenridge is located off of Highway 9 if you're coming by car. There are several routes that can take you there depending on where you're coming from.

  • From Denver and areas East, take Interstate 70 west to exit 203.
  • From Vail and areas West, take Interstate 70 east to exit 203.
  • From Fairplay and areas South, take HWY 9 north over Hoosier Pass to Breckenridge. 
 Get around: 

The Breckenridge Free Ride is a shuttle that stops at the Ice Rink, City Market, Recreation Center, Village and Four O’ Clock Roads, Columbine and Broken Lance Drive and Peak 9. It also provides transport between the free carparks. The Town Trolley serves the Village, downtown and most in-town lodging. runs approximately every 20 minutes from 9:00 AM to midnight during ski season. There is also a free bus service throughout Summit County provided by Summit Stage. Summit taxi provides taxi service throughout Summit County.

As you drive into the town of Breckenridge, you can see Breckenridge Mountain and many of the lifts. Breckenridge Mountain has four peaks and each is labeled peak 10, peak 9, peak 8 and peak 7. You can ski all four of Breckenridge's peaks in one day if you are up for a hike. The only peak accessible by lift is Peak 8.

Half of all slopes at Breckenridge ski and snowboard resort are for beginners. The other half is for moderate to extreme skiing.
