Majestic America Line Unveils New Microsite Devoted to Life on the Mississippi River Aboard the Gran
SEATTLE, Nov. 7 -- Majestic America Line, one of the
world's premier river cruise lines and the largest river and coastal
cruising company in America, today unveiled a new microsite
(http://www.majesticamerica.com/mississippi) that provides discerning
guests with an intimate look at virtually every aspect of life on the
Mississippi River aboard the grand American Queen, the world's largest
riverboat. Guests will journey along with a host couple and experience a
day aboard the ship -- from breakfast in their well-appointed stateroom to
custom shore tour adventures and evening entertainment -- providing an
authentic view of just how wonderful a cruise can be aboard the 436-guest
American Queen.
"It's easy to see that the American Queen is a stunning ship. But we
want to show guests what it really means to experience the Mississippi
River aboard the American Queen," said Diane Moore, Executive Vice
President, Majestic America Line. "The sound of the paddlewheel on the
water, the incredible views, dining in the elegant J.M. White dining room
-- these are all experiences that are unique to the American Queen and are
what make stepping aboard her decks something truly special."
As guests arrive at the site they are welcomed to their "Mississippi
River Journey" and introduced to the site through the narrator, a woman who
is embarking on a voyage aboard the American Queen with her husband for
their 50th wedding anniversary. Following a brief introduction, guests are
prompted to select a category -- the ship, life onboard, fine dining,
enrichment or destinations. Each category features a personal narration of
the couple's day on the river and highlights the nuances and attention to
detail that makes each pillar of extraordinary quality stand out. From
there, guests can delve even deeper into the site to learn facts about the
ship, the river, Majestic America Line and more.
Guests can choose from any of the American Queen's 44 seven-night
sailings in 2008. After spending the Spring on the lower Mississippi River
exploring the Cajun and Creole culture of New Orleans and picking up the
rhythm of the Blues in Memphis, she'll head upriver for the summer. Between
July and October the American Queen will provide guests with an upper
Mississippi River experience between St. Paul and St. Louis before heading
back down to New Orleans to round out 2008.
